Section titled “Use the Mic Button”The mic button in the top bar shows your microphone and changes it with one tap:
- Live on this device: you can be heard. Tap to mute.
- Muted on this device: nobody hears you. Tap to unmute.
- On another device: the button shows that device’s name, such as Desk, or Desk (offline) if it has lost its connection. Tap to take the mic on this device, unmuted.
The button follows your mic wherever it is changed. If you unmute from Companion or another device, or your administrator does, this device starts sending audio with nothing to press here. The microphone stays open while you are connected, even when muted, so your phone or computer may keep showing that the microphone is in use. A muted device still sends no audio.
In control-only mode the app never uses a microphone, and the mic button is hidden.
